This dataset contains greenhouse gas emission estimates for illustrative scenarios of peatland restoration from a case-study with The Wildlife Trusts in the UK. Initial management information was provided by individual Wildlife Trusts, from which a representative simulation case-study was designed. Emissions are estimated assuming peatlands are initially in a degraded state, initially restored by wetting, and finally restored further to 'near-natural' conditions. Emissions are reported for individual gases (carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide), and aggregated under multiple metrics: the 100-year Global Warming Potential, the 100-year Global temperature Change Potential and 'GWP*', to provide insight into temporal dynamics. Uncertainties are also shown, with data from a large number of Monte Carlo Simulation runs. The work was supported by the Natural Environment Research Council (NE/W004976/1).
